During my 2nd trimester, I flew home to Santa Cruz, California to visit my family and took a hike through the redwoods as I LOVE to do.
I promised Wilder then that we’d be back soon to enjoy the majestic giants together when he could experience them with his own eyes and heart.
A few months later devastating forest fires swept through the Santa Cruz mountains burning tens of thousands of acres of the forest only a few miles from Henry Cowell State Park where some of the largest and oldest redwoods stand towering overhead.
I cried so hard thinking these trees were gone forever but were so happy to learn Henry Cowell hadn’t been touched by the flames.
Hiking and Redwoods
Hiking today through the redwood groves this morning was a full-circle moment of immense gratitude.
Nature is my greatest medicine, teacher, and healer. Always has been, and always will be.
Whenever I’m feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stressed, distracted or ungrounded, I go sit in the flowers or walk through the trees.
These sacred ancient trees are such a blessing! I’m SO grateful I get to share their magic with our little guy. He loves trees just like I do.
Hiking with Wilder is our favourite thing to do. He absolutely LOVES being outside.
Hometown and Family
Showing Wilder some of my favourite spots in my gorgeous home town means so much to me. He saw the ocean for the first time this afternoon. My heart is SO happy!
We are visiting my family here for the weekend for my sisters baby shower. It’s set to be a mini family reunion as well where my extended family will meet Wilder for the first time. Can’t wait!
When was the last time you went back home?
Much Love,
Amber Sears
