Could you enjoy the journey more? Why does adulting need to be so serious?
I challenge you today and every day to find the beauty, play, and joy in the never ending growth process we call life on Earth.
Change is the only constant. So how we learn to flow, adapt, and enjoy all of our moments as we evolve is EVERYTHING.
As much as I would love to pump the breaks on my inner expansion sometimes because the growing pains feel too intense, I know that the best thing I can do in those moments is relaxed, stay present, and find the silver lining.
In Retrospect
I think back to who I was a decade ago and cringe at how damn serious, hyper-controlled, anxious, and stressed I was all the time.
When I realized this way of being wasn’t serving me, or my dreams, I started getting curious about how to let go more fully.
The idea of letting go of control terrified me because I’d didn’t trust myself or the universe.
I micromanaged my staff and myself to the point of burnout because deep down I lacked the faith that I am always supported and provided for.
I was stuck in a state of scarcity and survival mode mentally even though everything externally looked abundant and perfect.
Deep down I knew I wasn’t living life full throttle. I wasn’t enjoying any part of my journey. Even my successes. I wasn’t aware of the present moment because my mind lived in the past and future 24/7.
Final Thoughts
My turning point came when I learned the art of letting go and flow…
When I…
- Began to believe from the depth of my soul that the universe always had my back and I could trust myself fully.
- Started practicing mediation daily and could maintain my focus in the present moment.
- Married a comedian and he showed me how to be more playful than I thought possible as an adult.
Adulting isn’t easy, but it doesn’t have to be void of play, pleasure, passion, and excitement. You have the power every moment to decide how you choose to respond to life’s circumstances.
What do you choose?
How are you cultivating joy, play, and love today? I’d love to hear from you!
Much Love,
Amber Sears
