Though I may be out of the country I’m still committed to my Nike Challenge!
Buenos dias from Rancho La Puerta! Remember when I visited this world famous retreat center three months ago? Well midway through my Europe tour I got an email from the fitness director. They offered me the full time pilates position! I was unbelievably elated to get the news, but knew deep down I couldn’t leave my dance career behind to live full time in sunny Baja. I proposed the best of both worlds. What if I flew down once a month to help fill the gabs in their schedule?
After two months of no word an email arrived three weeks ago. They could hire me as a temp employee and I’d fly down at least once per month for a week or more. Ask and you shall receive! I am now teaching in Baja every third week of the month.

Waking up at dawn this morning to hike I nearly tripped over baby rabbits and sunning lizards. Whisping by blooming sunflowers I joining the group of eager nature lovers in the lounge and launched into the dewy crisp morning. A farm fresh breakfast of juicy papaya, flaxseed, chia seed and raw almond butter fueled me for teaching two pilates mat classes and taking a 90 min hot vinyasa. Energizing greens, veggies and more greens amped me up for hip shimming Zumba and teaching reformer in the afternoon. It’s such a luxury to pop into classes between my “working” hours.
With the 50+ fitness classes per day to chose from here at the ranch I’m still committed to my Nike Challenge! I’m prepping for an important dance audition this Sunday and the app is helping me boost endurance and speed. The interval training is definitely not easy, but I’ve already seen wonderful gains in the last two weeks. Accuracy of quick small movements is essential for the specific company I’m auditioning for and it’s been a blast cross training with the app. I practice two or three of the interval drills per day. Short, sweet and uber effective. I’ve been using the Advanced Get Lean (high interval cardio drills) workouts. More specifically the “Transformer” 45 min blast. The ski jumps and plank walks kicked my butt this week.

Which workouts are your favorite from the app thus far?
Well, the dinner bell just rang and I’m thoroughly exhausted and ready for some fresh vegan eats. Time to shower, rub raw coconut oil on my sun drenched skin, and munch some greens. My natural self care and techie travel tips video coming out next!
