The bicycle is no longer just a great tool to get yourself around town and into shape, now you can actually carry heavy loads. Thanks to Xtracycle we can really incorporate those two wheels into our lifestyle.

Living in San Francisco it’s not uncommon to find 4-5 bikers waiting at a stoplight. Biking is huge here and for good reason. It’s cheap, great for the environment, and of course good for your health. The only problem with riding is the lack of ability to carry much with you. Messenger bags only hold so much. What if you wanted to carry a surfboard to the nearest beach break, haul your camping gear up a mountain, or just carry 4 grocery bags? That’s where the Xtracycle comes in.

Now, there are plenty of other load haulers out there like trailers and saddlebags, but the Xtracycle is in a class of its own. It actually extends the length of your bike and sets whatever you’re hauling low and centered in the frame. The low center of gravity allows for the same maneuverability with or without a load. No joke!

You can either purchase what they call the FreeRadical which is the kit you’ll need to transform your favorite bike into a hauling machine, or you can buy a S.U.B or Sports Utility Bicycle which is one of Xtracylces awesome choice bikes with the FreeRadical attached.

I don’t have a bike at the moment, but I am seriously considering getting an Xtracycle. There are so many times where I just need to get groceries or carry an overnight bag to a buddy’s house across town. Parking and traffic are a nightmare, gas is expensive, and cars are simply big polluters. So load up anything you can imagine, save some money, the environment and get a workout all at the same time with the Xtracycle!
