After a week of culture shock I’m officially back on my San Francisco schedule. Bali, like Rancho La Puerta, slowed me down and reminded me to examine my daily stressors. Has a vacation given you this perspective before? Why don’t we infuse each and every day with stress relief techniques typical on a weekend or vacation?
Imagine if your priority every day this week and beyond was to reduce stress levels. You’d shimmy into the weekend with extra energy to pursue your most burning passions and adventures.
This week’s challenge, inspired by Aveeno, is to use one or all of my stress relief tips every day and report back on how amazing you feel. Soak in some R & R with the following ideas.
Sleep- Recover from cell damage properly by
taking mid day naps and setting a 10pm bed time. No excuses!
Sauna or Tub Soak- My favorite way to wind down the day.
Find out why sauna’s rock.
Unplug- Answering texts, voicemail, tweets, facebook, and digging through your inbox every 15 mins is overwhelming and never ending. There will always be more mail, pings, comments and people needing you. Can you take 1 hr per day to unplug?
Ideally aim for a whole day.
Watch your internal self talk- Do you beat yourself up verbally when stress enters your moment? Pay attention this week and flip those thoughts into positive mantras that empower you.
Slow down, WAY down- Speed doesn’t help any stressful situation. The only thing making you speed through life is yourself. Do you let your speedy environment effect you negatively? See if you can gracefully float through a fast pace environment in complete slow ease.
Drink fresh spring water- Dehydration is an internal stress on your body. Spring water is the most hydrating water on the planet. Tap water is completely denatured of it’s hydrogen and minerals. Go for unprocessed water this week and feel the vast difference. Check out
