It’s been a fun whirlwind of activity and this soon to be mama is learning the importance of slowing WAY down.

I’m coming up for air after a fabulous week hosting my family, coaching my wonderful clients, self-care, and organizing our home after the baby shower.

My body is telling me more and more every day to slow down, be more present, and stop trying to do so much.

As a super energetic, creative, passionate person, slowing down isn’t always easy for me.

If I’m not working on my business, I get a vision about how we can revamp our backyard patio, or organize our closets better, or paint an accent wall.

Filling The Void

I somehow always find a way to fill the space I create within my schedule. Many of you can relate, I bet!

I know part of this behavior is my manifesting generator ways, and another part of it is my programmed need to feel productive and valued.

So I’m constantly re-learning how to slow down. It’s a lesson the universe loves to teach me on repeat. The more I just focus on “being” present and enjoying the journey, the less “doing” I need to feel whole.

Overachieving is often an overcompensation for a void we are trying to fill inside. A void that can only be filled by being more present with all aspects of life.

Profound Impact of Yoga, Meditation, and Immersion in Other Cultures

These self-care rituals have had such a profound impact on my personal and professional development. I honestly don’t know who I’d be without my daily mediation and yoga practice.

These self-care rituals keep me grounded, centered, connected to my heart, and clear-headed for all the responsibilities and decisions I make on a daily basis.

I’ve had to learn to practice slowing down since it doesn’t come naturally to me.

I’ve chosen to be consistent with a daily practice for years to see the massive long term shifts in my psyche.

My old “must do more” patterns still show up, but now I have the tools to cope with them much better.

Is slowing down challenging for you? Do you struggle with just “being” present and enjoying all of life’s little moments? Is overworking and overachieving your default pattern?

I’d love to hear from you.

Much Love,

Amber Sears
