I have a confession to make. My name is Kailey and I am a chocoholic.

I’ve been a chocoholic for as long as I can remember. At halloween I would come home after trick or treating and dump all my candy out on to the family room floor and I would trade my brother and sister anything that wasn’t chocolate for more CHOCOLATE!

On hot summer days if we were on our best behaviour my mom would give us each a dollar to go to the corner store to get ourselves a treat. Those adventures a few blocks from home with my neighbourhood crew were like precious golden nuggets of parent free of freedom! We were positively rich in a way that only children with a dollar burning a hole in their pockets can be.

When we would get to the corner store everyone would make a mad dash to their favourite treats. Some would spend their whole dollar on one hundred 1¢ candies. Others would try to impress the gang by getting Warhead candies so sour that their tongue would bleed or a giant multi-layered jawbreaker that would last for weeks. I on the other hand would always arrive at the freezer so effortlessly that I wouldn’t even remember walking through the corner store door.

Moments later I would be racing the heat of the day to devour my one and only Fudgecicle before it dripped down my arm onto the hot asphalt. I’m not trying to brag or anything, but I won that race every time.

Somewhere along the line I started making attempts at acting like an adult and worked away at curbing a few of my less than desirable food habits. Lucky for me and the rest of you chocoholics out there, real raw cacao is actually one of the most incredible superfoods known to man!

Raw cacao contains four times the antioxidant capacity of goji berries and forty times that of blueberries! It contains over 300 important compounds including protein, fat, vitamins and minerals. It can help lower cholesterol, lower blood pressure, increase insulin sensitivity and improve production of anti-aging collagen. It also increases the production of happy chemicals in our brains and acts like  an aphrodisiac!

With all these health benefits and more I quite frankly don’t know why any self-respecting adult wouldn’t get down with cacao! I am also pretty certain that all you other chocoholics out there miss the days of carefree corner store Fudgecicles as much as I do. Lucky for us I have come up with a solution. One that has the power to take us back to our favourite childhood treats while fuelling our gruelling adult lives.

I hope you enjoy your Superfood Fudgecicles as much as I do!

I also hope you win the race 😉
