Friday I bussed North of the city to sunny green Santa Rosa to stay, learn and get my yearly thorough check up with some of the top doctors in the country. True North Wellness Center is an absolute gem in a world of sterile drug pushing Western med treatment. I couldn’t help but stay the entire weekend to soak in the holistic approach and cutting edge science.
 
Yesterday I had my doc visit, got poked and can’t wait to see my blood panel! I’ll be sure to post it for you all in a few weeks. I spent the rest of the afternoon roaming around Armstrong Forest, home to some of the oldest and tallest redwood tress in California. I love hugging giants!
 
When the sun slipped beyond the rolling vineyard covered hills we headed inside to watch the ground breaking film Forks Over Knives.
 
True North had an official screening copy! The film examines the profound claim that most, if not all, of the degenerative diseases that afflict us can be controlled, or even reversed, by rejecting our present menu of animal-based and processed foods.
 
The major storyline traces the personal journeys of a pair of pioneering researchers, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn- the two leading health renewing vegan diet experts.
The 2-hour info-packed flick makes your jaw drop within the first five minutes. I loved every second of it! The trailer alone strikes you right away.
 
Every person must see and share this vital information. This country must wake up. We can no longer hide from our personal health responsibility. Educate yourself on the reality of where your food comes from and how it effects your body. Know who lobbies to sell you addictive sugar and fatty foods. See the massive environmental damage. Witness others struggle and die from preventable diseases. It’s time to step up and be the change. I live the change to inspire others.
