As always I try to bring you fabulous health nuts the latest, most ingenious, and sometimes craziest fitness and nutrition news. So what if I told you to throw out the idea that to fit into that tiny black dress or rock your bikini you have to get moving… usually in the form of six aerobics classes a week with a couple weight lifting sessions thrown in. Could it be that you only need to work out 20 minutes a week to achieve all of your fitness goals?
According to Chad Morris, developer of Myogenics, you can build a stellar healthy bod with little to no movement and without spending endless hours at the gym. Using state of the art sensory equipment and simple isometrics Morris is on to something profound…
What I find so intriguing about Myogenics is the mind-body connection involved. In order to keep the muscles constantly contracting the doer must have extreme mental focus. Morris talks about how he trains his clients to find almost a zen meditative state just to complete the given task.
So true! I find with my work in pilates, dance and yoga that the mind is an essential tool in taking any workout to the next level. Just taking your focus out of your thoughts and into the body’s movements creates new awareness and lets you delve deeper into the exercise. Try it next time you hit the gym!
What do you think about Myogenics? Would you try it or do you think it’s just another scheme?
