It can be done. I’m proof. Traveling and backpacking can be the ultimate distraction from your vibrant living choices, or they can enhance your normal routine. I show you how in this series devoted to staying fit and eating raw vegan on the road.

After my unbelievable residency at Rancho la Puerta I had a week full of clients before heading off on another weekend retreat to Lake Tahoe, and now Europe! If you’ve been following my journey for at least a year you know that I’ve been waiting to launch an adventure in Europe. I still have a few posts I’d like to publish wrapping up Rancho la Puerta and my Lake Tahoe Pilates Raw Detox Weekend, but I just have to share what’s going down in London town.

I intro this fit and raw travel series with some simple ways to take ultimate care of yourself during long flights and in new surroundings. Ex the heavy backpacks and bring your goodies with you!

London is a greener city than I imagined and full of divine raw food eats. Here’s a simple breakdown of my first two days of exploring the dance, yoga, pilates and raw scene. I offer up some secrets I discovered…

Update: I found several Whole Food Markets!!! yay.
My iPhone, Flip recorder, and Canon Camera were glued to my hands as I meandered through jaw dropping architecture and history. Bare with me…I was quite jet lagged the first day!
Big Ben in all is gorgeous glory
The famous Pineapple Dance Center in Covent Garden. It’s such a scene here! I’ve been taking classes all week. A typical dance studio with a crew chilling outside smoking and looking hip. Sad to see the smoke, but happy to tear up the ballet and contemporary classes.
The tube at rush hour. Smashed like cattle, Londoners deal with this mayhem all day long. The traffic and congestion is endless, but the mass transit rocks! Between the busses, subway and now rental bikes, there are many green ways to hop around the city. I’ve been walking everywhere to take in the sights.
A true tradition on the side streets of Soho! I love this row of to-go food carts. Convenience is a top priority for Londoners who race from one spot to the next. Hustle and bustle is an understatement!
Soaking in the essence of Regency Park and it’s amazing gardens. Stunning!
When the sun comes out the city blossoms to life. A warm day in Soho square.
My buddy Arvind showed me this secret garden near a Sultans home in Regency Park. A true secret garden.Perfect for meditation!
I’m documenting everything I eat on my journey. From road side fruit carts to gourmet raw food restaurants, to home made salads on the go, here’s a sample of what I’ve been munching…
An inspiring nut/seed burger and delicious variety of salads from Inspiral lounge in Camden. A rainbow of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, living enzymes, phytonutrients, and probiotics. I love nourishing my body. It’s all we have folks!
Inspiral is one of the hippest spots in Camden. Camden is a vibrant neighborhood perched on a canal, just like Venice or Amsterdam. Awesome canal view and tables out the back. They offer everything from raw icecream, to kale chips, to truly inspiring main dishes, dips and smoothies!
This is a sample lunch or dinner from Vantra, a brand new raw restaurant in the heart of Soho. Sprouts, apple/beet salad, zuccini pesto pasta, and home made kale chips.
Vantra also offers some cooked vegan options and a killer smoothie and mocktail bar.
Happy to find a U.S organic staple…
After scouring the city for organic fruit and veg, I was so happy my raw friend Andrew took me to one of four whole foods in the city. The largest store is in Kensington. A whopping 30,000 square food mecca of goodness! pics to come.
After a few days without kale chips, I was drooling over the raw food corner and desserts…

When in doubt, I just make my own.
Add some olive oil, lemon and pepper to the bag and presto! I live, love and crave my greens!
Even though time flies in London, I still make time to smell the roses.
Dip into an Iyengar yoga class…
Roll around in a professional modern dance class at the gorgeous six story dance hub, The Place.
Absorb the posh architectural beauty of St. James Wood and Kensington…

It’s been a magically week! This is just a sample of some of the raw, fit fun going on. More videos, raw travel tips, pilates sequences, and adventures to share soon. I’ll wrap up my time in London, followed by Barcelona!

Is London the place for me? I share my thoughts as they unravel in my next post. Flying tomorrow to Barcelona, Spain! I’m definitely in universal flow out here. I’ve met the most amazing people and life is unraveling in abundance.
Cheers from London!
Amber
