Did someone say pizza?! You say pizza, I say Basil Pesto RAW Pizza. It’s the next level ya’ll! We’ve been craving comfort foods lately and oh.em.gee this pizza really did the trick. If you’ve never had raw vegan pizza before, you really don’t know what you’re missing. It’s amazing! Here’s what we did below.

Flax Pizza Crust

Equipment:

food processor or Vitamix

Ingredients:

2 cups flax seeds (grind them fresh yourself for best quality)
1 cup coconut flour
1 large zucchini
1 carrot
2 red peppers

Directions:

  1. Grind up the flax seeds in your food processor or Vitamix. *Make sure the container is dry first!
  2. Add and ground up the rest of the ingredients in food processor.
  3. Put it all in a big bowl and add water until it forms a wet pate consistency.
  4. Massage that crust-get your fingers in it and send your food love!
  5. Taste it! Make sure you like it.
  6. Spread on teflex sheets so it’s about 1/2 inch thick. Make it round or square, your choice.
  7. Dehydrate for 4 hours, flip and score.
  8. Place in dehydrator for 4 more hours to finish.

 

Sunny Superfood Basil Pesto Sauce

Ingredients:

1 cup basil
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
2 TBL spirulina crunchies

Directions:

  1. Mix all ingredients in food processor or Vitamix.
  2. Taste it, make sure you like it and adjust as needed!
  3. Spread on your pizza crust.
  4. add fresh veggies like tomato, avocado, bell pepper, onion, portobello mushroom*, or whatever makes you happy, and serve.

*We marinated our sliced mushies in olive oil and balsamic vinegar for 30 minutes before putting them on the pizza. What a treat!
