Crap economy? I’m so over hearing about it. Aren’t you?! All it means is we are now forced to innovate and use our creativity. The leaders of business tomorrow know the only way out of our current grave is to create new ideas and more importantly, direct action. We can’t afford to wait for the other guy to do it first. The economy and planet unfortunately don’t come with a deadline for us to meet. And while the green energy companies and tech world continue to lead the way, health and wellness industries are on the radar.

When people can’t afford health care the focus on preventing illness through nutrition and exercise blooms. And with a surge of eager participants who lack funds, popular mind/body exercises like pilates and yoga are innovating like crazy to keep clients coming back for more.

So why do I bring all of this up? Because I’m launching a few unique classes this week at the pilates studio I teach for in San Francisco!

We see what hand we are dealt and charge forward with new inspiring fitness ideas! Instead of offering traditional mat classes like every other studio, The Informed Body, is now offering Pilates Barre classes. A mix of mat technique with Ballet Barre. Below is the promo for the class.
I am also teaching a Thursday noon class called Perfect Posture Mat with Props, which is a fusion of traditional mat exercises that incorporates the theraband and magic circle to hone in on shoulder and postural imbalances. If you live in the SF bay area I’d love to have you pop into one of our free intro classes. I’d be so fun to meet some of you epic readers face to face. Shoot me an email, a tweet, or a message on facebook if you are interested.
Beyond these San Francisco based creative fusion classes, I am looking to start a donation based Pilates mat webinar for you fantastic readers! All proceeds will go directly to organizations working in Haiti! My hope is to raise as much money as possible, while introducing you all to the powerful mind/body work created by Joseph Pilates. I hope you will join me! More details to come…
How has the economy changed the industry you work in and how have you adapted? I’d love to hear your personal stories.
