21 days and counting. With Black Friday behind us and steals and deals still in full swing, it’s time to start thinking about how we are going to wrap all of the utterly amazing gifts we’ve purchased so far. And let’s just say, in this economy, most of us aren’t to keen on spending a fortune on wrapping that will end it’s short sweet life in the dumpster.
Poor poor Earth. Let’s reduce our impact and save some moolah this season with these creative ways to wrap.

1.) Save The Trees: Use old newspapers, posters, magazines, and maps. While you’re at it, why not make an edgy collage to cover the gift. An original art piece from you is priceless right?
2.) Bag It: Stash the gift in a reusable tote, clutch or backpack. Who doesn’t like two gifts in one?
3.) Fold and Tie: Learn the Japanese art of Furoshiki wrapping…
4.) Add Eco Flare: Decorate your gift with fun and funky reusable goodies like old x-mas lights or VHS/cassette tape as ribbon. Use twine or rope and real leaves/twigs from the great outdoors for a more rustic look. Forget those boring bows and top with re-used bells, whistles, fake holly or mistletoe, Pez dispensers, and anything else laying around your home.

5.) For Those Who Must Buy: Shop for the recycled paper wrapping. Gorgeous styles and patterns for those who want a great look, but want to keep it as green as humanly possible.

I know I’ll be trying to reuse as much as possible this year. For something that’s just going to be tossed anyway, I’d rather pinch my pennies! I think I’ll have to uncover my inner van Gogh and break out some mad collage skills.
