3 years ago today I walked down the aisle with my dad, trying to hold back the tears, as I approached @awakenwithjp at the altar under a grove of mighty redwoods.
Our wedding day was a dream come true on many levels. I’ll never forget the way I felt twirling in my dress during our first dance at the reception while @dustinthomas sang us our song. It was a celebration I’ll never forget and always cherish.
A lot has changed since then and it’s hard to believe how much we’ve grown in just 3 short years.
Today we spent a few hours reminiscing over lunch…
What have been our greatest lessons learned thus far? Our greatest challenges? The memories we’ll cherish the most? Where do we see ourselves in a few years? What do we want to reprioritize? What do we want to embody and teach Wilder about relationships? My favourite kind of conversation!
The theme that kept coming up was the importance of following our hearts in every aspect of life. JP and I both have built our lives and businesses around this concept. It’s something we hope to impart on Wilder.
My heart has never steered me wrong. Somehow it always knows how and where to guide me. I treat it like the North Star in the sea of endless possibility. My only job is to listen to my heart and dare to take a chance on what it beats for.
So today and every day we celebrate our love as we continue to evolve together through the highs and lows.
Watching Wilder grow daily continues to be our highest joy. His personality is coming out more and more every day. Our love for him is beyond crazy.
P.S – JP had his knee surgery and is doing great! He’s got another month to go before he can walk on it, but he’s back in action performing his comedy shows on crutches.
